Description
Hole Bank Head and Farm Cottage is a house and two cottages, now functioning as two separate dwellings. They were built in the early to mid-18th century and consist of several sections. The structure is made of coursed dressed stone with stone slate roofs and stands two storeys tall, featuring a total of five bays. The three right-hand bays represent the original house and are lower in height.
The windows are flat-faced mullion types. In the first bay, there are quoins on the left side; the ground floor appears to have been rebuilt and includes a five-light window with a three-light window above it, along with a corniced stack at the left end. The second bay also has quoins on the left and features a five-light window with a later two-light window on the right side, and a seven-light window above, with a corniced stack at the left end.
Bays three, four, and five have quoins, but all ground-floor openings in these bays are later additions. Bay three has an inserted glazed double-door with a four-light window above it. Bay four contains a two-light window and a one-light window, with a two-light window above. Bay five features a one-light window and a two-light window, with a four-light window above. There are corniced stacks at the ends and between bays three and four, with the latter being partly built in brick.
At the rear, the Farm Cottage has a ground floor with a seven-light window that includes a king mullion, and on the first floor, there are a three-light window and two two-light windows.
