Description
This building is a barn and shippon located to the southwest of Mellor Hall, with the date "IC 1688" inscribed on the door lintel. It is constructed from coursed stone with stone dressings and features a graduated stone slate roof. The shippon has a loft above at the lower end, while the barn has opposed cart entries at the higher end. The structure includes stone quoins and coped gables with kneelers. There are three doors, two of which are blocked, all featuring shaped stone lintels, one of which is dated, located in the gable end. Additionally, there are vents at loft level and small window openings on the side walls of the shippon.
