Description
Pear Tree Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, marked with the date "1672" on a datestone at the rear and "DN 1705" above the door. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has three bays and two storeys, with a later porch added to the left gable and 20th-century additions to the right, along with a rear wing. The front elevation is nearly symmetrical, with a central chamfered doorway that has a dated lintel, one window to the left, and two to the right. The first floor has a total of three windows, two of which have gables above. All windows are three-light stone chamfered mullion windows, some of which appear to have been replaced. The right side has two bays added in the 20th century. The older rear wing features stone quoins, coped gables, and kneelers, with three two-light, two three-light, and one four-light mullion window (with two mullions removed) below a dormer gable that also has a datestone. Inside, the door opens into the house-part, which has ovolo-moulded beams with stepped stops.
