Description
The remains of a Saxon cross are located in the graveyard of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Mellor. This cross is believed to be of Anglo-Saxon origin and is made of stone. It features a cubic head with a carved castellated motif in relief bands. The cross stands on a square shaft that has chamfered corners. Additionally, a later dial, which does not have a gnomon, is attached to the upper face of the cross.
