Description
Clough House is a house dated "T.L.1622" on the datestone. It is built of coursed stone with a stone slate roof and features a 2-unit, 2-storey plan, including an outshut at the rear and a later lean-to porch at the front. There is a derelict wing adjoining to the right, which appears to be of a later date. The house has a stone plinth and quoins. The ground floor windows are 4 and 8-light, although 2 and 3 mullions have been removed, and they feature double-chamfered mullions and hoodmoulds. The first floor originally had flat-faced mullion windows, but few mullions remain. At the rear, there is a 2-light window (formerly 3) and blocked 2 and 3-light windows, all of which were double-chamfered with hoodmoulds. A diagonally set chimney shaft with a cornice is located between the two units. The datestone is set within a Tudor arched fire lintel with recessed spandrels, now part of the derelict wing that projects forward on the right side.
