Description
The property comprises two cottages, initially a house, dating back to 1703, with subsequent building and alteration work evident, particularly in the early 19th century. The exterior is constructed of watershot stone to the front and rear, with hammer-dressed stone to the sides, and is roofed with stone slates. Originally a two-story, two-unit design with a central entrance, the structure was later expanded by adding a similar range, creating an ‘M’ shaped roofline. The front section appears to be the original construction. A porch was added to the left-hand gable when the house was converted into cottages. The left-hand side features quoins, with raised and corbelled eaves supporting a gutter. The central doorway and side porch both have monolithic stone surrounds capped with cornice hoods. There are four five-light, flat-faced mullion windows, fitted with 20th-century casements. The rear elevation has sash windows. Gable chimney stacks are present.
