Description
Woodhouse Green Farmhouse and adjoining stables is a 17th-century building with later alterations. It features a box-framed structure with brick infill panels and a graduated stone slate roof. The main range has a three-unit baffle-entry plan and two storeys, with an additional wing at the front left. The timber frame is set on a stone plinth, although much of it has been replaced with 18th and 19th-century brickwork. There is a door with a multi-pane horizontally sliding sash window to the left and two three-light windows to the right, with a central sash. A ridge and gable chimney stack is present. The framing of the left wing is more intact and includes diagonal bracing. A brick lean-to was added in the 18th century within the angle. The rear features two three-light windows similar to the front, as well as three tripartite sash windows. Internally, beams with stepped and ogee stops are visible, along with original floor and roof structures.
