Description
Diamond Hall Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed of English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof. It features a two-unit baffle-entry plan, with small later additions to the rear and left. The central gabled porch has an original boarded door with strap hinges. To the left of the porch, there is an oak-mullioned casement window beneath a diagonally set brick head, an elliptical brick arch, and a hoodmould. There are two later windows to the right, and above the porch, there is a small arched light with a hoodmould that is now blocked. The first floor displays cross and diamond patterns in raised brick, along with two windows: one is a horizontally sliding sash, and the other is a later alteration. The farmhouse has a central chimney stack, with more decorative brickwork on the left gable. The right gable end was rebuilt in the 20th century. At the rear, there are two elliptical-headed windows on either side of a small wing. Inside, the farmhouse retains chamfered floor beams with ogee stops and an inglenook fireplace, where the ovolo-moulded bressumer beam rests on carved corbels, which is an unusual feature.
