Description
A barn, likely dating from the mid-18th century, stands south of Medlock Hall. The barn is constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone with a slate roof. It originally comprised three bays, featuring a central cart entry opposed to a winnowing door. A brick bay was added to the north side in the 20th century. The barn has quoins and two tiers of vents. The original winnowing door and two smaller doors on the left side are now blocked. A blocked cart entry is located at the rear, which is currently partly obscured by a greenhouse. Internally, the barn is floored throughout and contains two cambered tie-beam roof trusses with inclined struts.
