Pair of cottages, now restaurant. Late C18, altered. White-panted brick, graduated slate roof. Double-depth plan (diagonal junction with Ye Olde Cock Inn at left end), with back extensions. Two storeys, 3+1 windows (including blind window over doorway of no. 846). No. 846 has a symmetrical shop front at ground floor, the doorway flanked by large square windows of three round-arched lights, with pilasters to the windows and a continuous fascia and cornice, a blind window over the door and two 2-light casements designed to imitate horizontal-sliding sashes, with glazing bars and now flanked by pseudo-shutters. No. 844 has a square 4-pane sashed window, a doorway to the left, and a 1st-floor window matching those of no. 846. Ridge chimney to no. 846, gable chimney to no. 844. Rear and interior not inspected.
