Description
The entrance gateway to the grounds of Fletcher Moss Art Gallery is a notable structure dated 1876 on its inner side. It is currently undergoing renovation or repair. Made of sandstone, this modest folly incorporates fragments from demolished buildings in Manchester. The gateway features a moulded round-headed arch supported by short shafts with foliated caps. It also includes a variety of carved details, such as urns, a bird with raised wings, and a gablet displaying raised lettering that reads "FM 1876."
