Description

The Didsbury Hotel is a mid-19th century hotel, likely constructed in more than one phase and possibly involving the remodelling of an earlier building. The exterior features white-painted stucco on brick with a slate roof and is designed in an L-shape. The building has two and three storeys, with an irregular arrangement of windows that corresponds to approximately six windows on the first floor, divided into two sections.

On the right side, the three-storey section includes a porch with a round-headed doorway and window, both topped with an arched parapet. There is a canted bay window to the right, two pairs of small round-headed windows on the first floor, and three segmental-headed windows on the second floor, with the leftmost window situated under a shallow gable adorned with ornamental bargeboards.

The left section of the building is regular and symmetrical, featuring two pairs of tall round-headed windows on the ground floor, with an arched band above them, and a round-headed window in the centre of the first floor, also under a gable. This section is flanked by pairs of segmental-headed windows. All windows are sashed without glazing bars. The building has a gable chimney on the left and two ridge chimneys on the right. The Didsbury Hotel is included for its group value.
