Description
No. 28 Mawdsley Street is a two-storey office building dated 1865, constructed of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. The façade features a seven-window range with a central entrance. The doorway is highlighted by polished granite shafts and a segmental arch with stressed voussoirs, topped by an entablature hood and a shallow pediment that displays the date. The segmentally arched windows are also adorned with stressed stone voussoirs and are connected by a string course, with a modillion cornice above the ground floor. The upper windows are round arched, featuring stressed stone voussoirs linked by a continuous deep modillion string course. The building has a strongly projecting modillion eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
