Description
24 and 26 Mawdsley Street are a pair of office buildings dating from around 1870. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. The buildings are three stories high and feature a five-window range, designed in an Italianate style with a symmetrical layout.
The central segmental archway leads to a rear courtyard and is flanked on either side by a doorway and an outer window. All openings are adorned with stilted arched stressed architraves, which are connected by a continuous string course. The upper storeys have pronounced sill bands, and there is a strongly projecting modillion eaves cornice. The buildings also have end and axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
