Description
The former Turkish Baths, built in 1891 and now used as offices, is located on Great Moor Street in Bolton. The building is constructed of brick with terracotta dressings and features a hipped slate roof. It has two storeys and a three-window range, with a prominent central bay that contains the entrance. The entrance is marked by a segmentally arched doorway flanked by bulbous pilasters adorned with low relief scrollwork, supporting an entablature. The windows on either side of the entrance are also segmentally arched, featuring stressed voussoirs and round-headed mullioned and transomed lights. Above the entrance is an oriel window, which is mullioned and transomed, with lettering in low relief on the apron. There are additional three-light mullioned and transomed windows on each side. The building is finished with a terracotta eaves cornice and a parapet that includes balustraded panels. The interior has not been inspected. The baths closed in 1980.
