Description
Moss Edge Cottage and Clayton Cottage, formerly a farmhouse, date from the early 17th century and have undergone later alterations. The cottages feature rendered and whitened brickwork with a slate roof. They are two storeys high with an attic and have a twin gabled facade, with one bay for each cottage. There is a two-bay gabled return to the north and a small wing to the south, which has a stone slate roof. The ground and first floors have three-light metal casements in wooden frames, with later casements in the attic gables. The north gable includes windows with cambered arches, weather courses, stone sills, and three-light casements. Inside, there are several ovolo moulded beams.
