Description
Old Hall Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse that has been altered over time. The original oak small-frame structure has been largely rebuilt externally in brick during the 19th century, with false-framing added to the front in the late 19th century. The house features a blue clay-tile double-pile roof and consists of two storeys with three windows, including gabled dormers at the front. The windows have wood casements with 19th-century lattice leads, and the framed and boarded door is likely from the late 19th century. There is a small rear wing on the right that retains its 17th-century oak small-frame. A datestone from 1655 is located on the right chimney.
Inside, the farmhouse has a lobby entrance that leads to two back-to-back inglenook fireplaces behind a baffle, with the one on the right having been altered. The three front rooms feature chamfered oak beams, with one room to the right of the lobby and two to the left. A dogleg stair with turned balusters, probably from the mid-18th century, is present. The upper rooms at the rear reveal visible 17th-century oak framing, and oak purlins can also be seen.
