Description

The gate piers and surrounding wall to the Library, dating from around 1730, are constructed from red sandstone squared blocks. They feature a projecting moulded plinth and moulded caps with ball finials supported by truncated cones. The finials are adorned with round projecting discs on four faces and the top. The piers are integrated into an ashlar wall that has a slightly overhanging half round coping.
