Description

The Vicarage is a vicarage house dating to 1739, as indicated by a tablet on the parapet. It is constructed of sandstone with a slate roof and is arranged over two storeys with five bays. The facade features rusticated quoins. The central entrance bay is flanked by giant pilasters. The front door is of six panels, with four fielded and two glazed panels, set within a Doric porch, and has rusticated surrounds. The ground floor windows have rusticated surrounds, including heads with a keystone, and are sash windows with glazing bars. An eaves cornice runs along the top of the building, leading to a solid parapet, which is pedimented over the central bay.

Inside, the south ground floor room has panelling with fluted pilasters, the pilasters framing the mantelpiece having Corinthian capitals. The staircase has a cut and bracketed string and turned newels.
