Description
Woodville is an early 19th-century house located on High Street in Malpas. It is constructed of Flemish bond brown brickwork, with the front painted, and has a grey slate roof. The house is two storeys tall with attics, featuring windows in the end gables, and is symmetrical with three windows across the front. It includes a plain brick plinth and 2-course bands at the first and second floors. The front door is a six-panel oak door with a rectangular four-pane overlight, set within a heavy doorcase in a flat-roofed, open porch supported by cast iron columns and consoles. The main rooms on each floor are lit by three-light nine-pane casement windows, while a two-light six-pane casement window is above the door in the landing. Wide boxed eaves and open-pediment gables are present. Two linked projecting chimneys are on the left gable, and a single projecting chimney is on the right gable. The interior has not been inspected. A stone-coped brick wall, attached to the right gable-end of the house, runs along the right side of the front garden and screens a yard to the right, standing two meters high and curved in plan.
