Description
No. 11 High Street is a mid-19th century cottage and shop, featuring a late 19th century shop front. The building is constructed of painted brick in an irregular Flemish bond and has a grey slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has two windows. The entrance consists of a boarded door, while the shop window is a 16-pane square bay situated under a hipped slate-roofed canopy, which is supported by the window frame and a shaped bracket. To the right of the door, there is a small 10-pane square parlour window. The upper storey contains three 2-light and one 1-light Gothick casements made of cast iron. The building also features brick dentil eaves and a rebuilt brick chimney on the right gable. This property is a notable example of a Victorian small shop and dwelling. The interior has not been inspected.
