Description

Rock Farmhouse is a farmhouse, probably built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. It is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond with pale headers on the front and has a grey slate roof. The building is two storeys high and L-shaped, featuring a projecting gable on the left side.

The main wing has three windows; the central lower window is a two-light Gothick casement set beneath a gauged brick depressed-arch head, while the other lower windows have been altered. On the right side, there is a gabled half-dormer with a small-pane casement that has a semi-circular radial-bar top, and the left dormer has been altered. A brick ridge chimney is present.

The cross-wing has two openings on each storey with depressed gauged-brick arches; the lower openings are blocked, and the upper ones contain replaced two-pane casements. There is a flush gable chimney. The inner face of the cross-wing features a boarded door set in an arched Gothick opening made of brick, with a lower window consisting of six panes under a depressed gauged-brick arch. Above the doorway, there is a gabled half-dormer that contains a small-pane casement with a semi-circular radial-bar top. The rear of the building has been altered but remains consistent with the overall style. The interior has not been inspected.
