Description

Priory Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the 18th century and was altered around 1835 to 1840. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick, featuring a string course and a dog-tooth cornice, while the right return side and rear wing are rendered. It has old plain-tile roofs with brick stacks at the left end and ridge. The farmhouse is laid out in an L-plan, with a wing extending to the rear on the left side.

The structure has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical front that includes a three-window range. The entrance features double-leaf glazed doors with Gothick-arched lights and glazing bars. To the left, a projecting brick strip merges with the string course. The 20th-century wood mullioned and transomed windows, along with a central cross window, have brick segmental arches.

On the left side, there is a mid to late 19th-century single-storey range with a slate roof, which includes a three-light casement and a nine-pane sash window. The right return side showcases triple gables, with a central late 19th or early 20th-century canted bay that has a wood cross window. To the right, a half-glazed six-panelled door is flanked by fluted wood pilasters and has a shallow hood. The wood cross windows feature Gothick-arched lights and glazing bars, and the first-floor window on the left is blind. The attic has two-light casements.

Inside, there are two staircases from around 1840, each with a moulded handrail, stick balusters, and a turned newel. One of the first-floor rooms has an ogee-stop-chamfered beam.
