Description
The building is a shippon located 30 metres south-west of Top Farm, likely dating from the mid-17th century. It features small timber framing with through braces, although parts of the structure have been replaced with brick on the sides. The exterior is clad in weatherboarding, partly made of oak, and the original thatched roof has been replaced with corrugated iron. At the north end, there is a one-bay extension in brick, probably from the late 18th century, topped with a slate roof. There are brick outshuts against the south end and part of the back. The shippon has two divided doors, three panels of the frame are glazed, and there are two boarded loading doors leading to the loft. Inside, the structure includes two queen-post trusses and one angle-strut truss, all made of oak.
