Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located on Bell O'Th'Hill Lane in Bradley. It features brick-nogged small framing set on a brick plinth, with the left gable replaced in brick. The roof is slate, likely originally thatched. The building has two storeys and three chambers, with 19th-century casement windows that have four and six panes and iron opening lights. The door has been replaced with a boarded one. Diagonal braces are visible at the eaves. The axial ridge chimney, which serves the central and left bays, has three separate rectangular flues, with the left flue, used for a bedroom fireplace, probably added in the 18th century. There is also a chimney adjacent to the right gable that has been inserted within the frame. Inside, the farmhouse has a lobby-entrance plan with back-to-back inglenooks, though it has been somewhat altered. The right and central rooms feature ovolo oak beams, while the left room has a chamfered oak beam.
