Description
Cobweb Cottage is a mid-17th century cottage featuring brick-nogged small framing that has been partly replaced with painted brickwork, and it has a cement-slate roof. The building is 1½ storeys high and includes a 19th-century open porch supported by posts, which has a tiled gabled roof on the right side. The cottage was rewindowed in the mid-19th century by the Cholmondeley Castle Estate, resulting in three 2-light cast-iron lattice casements on the lower storey and a lattice casement in an inserted dormer for the central bedroom. There is a wood casement on each storey of the right gable end, while the left gable end has a wood casement only on the upper storey. A chimney is located just behind the ridge. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with an oak bressumer and a fire window at the rear, along with a chamfered oak beam featuring ogee stops. The staircase has been renewed.
