Description

This building is a shippon located about 30 metres northeast of Riversbridge Farmhouse, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from local slate rubble, with cob under the eaves, and features a scantle slate half-hipped roof topped with red clay ridge tiles. The shippon has a rectangular plan, with doorways on the west side leading into the shippon and a loft above, which has double doors at the left-hand (north) end.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a symmetrical west front that includes four shippon doorways, each with cement rendered segmental arches and 20th-century boarded doors. There are no openings on the first floor at the front. The left end of the building has a wide loft doorway with 20th-century boarded double doors, while the rear elevation is blank. Inside, the shippon features scissor-braced softwood roof trusses, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
