STOKE FLEMING SX84NE Shippon about 30 metres 6/134 east North East of Riversbridge Farmhouse

GV II

Shippon with loft above. Probably mid C19. Local slate rubble with cob under the eaves. Scantle slate half-hipped roof with red clay ridge tiles. Plan: Rectangular on plan with doorways at the west (front) to the shippon and a loft above with double doors at the left hand (north) end. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical west front has 4 shippon doorways with cement rendered segmental arches and C20 boarded doors. There are no first floor openings at the front. The left hand end has a wide loft doorway with C20 boarded double doors. The rear elevation is blind. Interior: Circa late C19 or early C20 scissor-braced soft wood roof trusses.
