STOKE FLEMING SX84NE Shippon immediately 6/136 North of Riversbridge Farmhouse

GV II

Shippon with loft above. Probably mid C19. Local stone rubble. Slate roof with gabled ends, the eaves lower at the front. Plan: Long rectangular plan built into the bank at the back and with door- ways at the front to Shippon. The loft above has access from a doorway at the right (north east) end where the ground level is higher as it is at the back of the building. At the right hand (north east end) there is a lean-to roof-house built onto the bank at the back where there is a shoot. Exterior: 2 storeys. Row of shippon doorways at the front with cambered timber lintels. There are no openings on the front on the first floor. Loft doorway at the right hand end with double doors. The roof-house at the lower level at the right end has a lean-to roof. Interior was not inspected but the root-house shoot was seen.
