Description
This building is a shippon, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a bitumen-painted slate roof that is gabled at both ends. The shippon has a long rectangular plan and is located to the north-west of Grilstone, separating the garden behind the house from the farmyard.
The exterior includes a loft and four ground floor doorways, each with neat cut stone arches. The leftmost doorway is wider and has paired doors. There is a 19th-century window, also with a cut stone arch, situated between the two right-hand doors, along with two loft doors. The interior has not been inspected. This shippon is part of an irregular and attractive group of farm buildings located to the north-west of Grilstone.
