Description

The gate piers and walls at the entrance to the drive to Grilstone were likely built in 1834 by J. Cock of South Molton, based on a similar design found at the Rectory. They are constructed from stone rubble. The design features short sections of outward curving walls that extend from the square gate piers, which have plain cornices and oversailing caps, and these walls end with identical piers that create a turning place. The structure holds group value with Grilstone and the associated farm buildings.
