Description

Home Farmhouse, dating from around 1700 with some 18th century and later alterations, features an English bond of orange brick, partially set on a red sandstone base, and has a Welsh slate roof with two gable brick chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main section being double-pile and is 2½ stories tall with a symmetrical five-bay front. There are brick bands at the first and second floors. The ground floor includes two 3-light wooden casement windows with glazing bars, replacing pairs of blocked openings, and a central boarded door with a plain fanlight beneath a weak segmental brick head. The first floor has five 2-light mullioned and transomed windows with glazing bars, along with three small 2-light windows with glazing bars in the half storey. Inside, the ground floor has exposed but undecorated ceiling beams, several doors with two fielded panels, and an open string staircase with turned oak balusters, along with a later handrail and newels.

The north and west front garden walls, made of contemporary brick and red sandstone, are plain and approximately 4 meters high. The bond in these walls is irregular, and they feature a semi-circular stone coping. The central gateway has lost its gates.
