Description
The guidepost at the junction of Cliff Road, Hill Top Road, and Acton Lane is a late 19th-century structure commissioned by the Northwich Rural District Council. It is made of cast iron and features a slightly tapering octagonal post with a moulded plinth and cap topped with a ball finial. The shaft has a shield that reads "NRDC," and it includes three original fingerplates with nicked corners that provide directions to Acton Station, Acton Cliff, and Runcorn and Warrington. This guidepost is included for its group value.
