Description
Ash House is a farmhouse built in the early to mid-19th century, with some later additions. It features white pointed Flemish bond red brick and a Welsh slate roof, along with two gable brick chimneys. The building has a double-pile plan and is two stories tall with a symmetrical three-bay front. It includes a stone plinth, a cill band at the first floor, and projecting eaves. The end bays have recessed 12-pane sash windows with slender glazing bars, flat gauged and rubbed brick heads, and stone sills. The central bay has a rebated gauged and rubbed brick elliptical arched surround that frames a fluted Doric doorcase, which contains a pair of doors with small pane glazing. Above the doors is a fanlight with radial glazing bars. The canted bays on either side may be later additions. The interior has not been inspected.
