Description

Pear Tree Farmhouse is a 1798 farmhouse in Crowton, located on Ainsworth Lane. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick with a Welsh slate roof and has two brick chimneys at the gable ends. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-bay front. The end bays contain 16-pane sashes set within cambered brick heads on the ground floor, and 12-pane sashes above. A simple wooden-cased door is in the central bay, above which is a stone plaque reading "P R S" with a heart in the centre, and bearing the date 1798, set within a gauged brick head. A lean-to extension is located to the left, and an outshut is to the rear.
