Description
Barley Meadow Bridge, also known as canal bridge number 206, is a canal accommodation bridge built in 1777 by James Brindley for the Trent and Mersey Canal Company. The bridge is constructed of washed English bond brick with red sandstone dressings. It features a low segmental arch supported by raking jambs. At road level, there is a dentilated brick band, along with a plain parapet and stone coping. The ends of the bridge are marked by pilasters, which are accompanied by lower wing walls that are similar in design.
