Description
This footpath guidepost, located 70 meters north of the M56 Flyover, dates from the late 19th century. It features an octagonal cast iron post with a plinth, a moulded cap, and a ball finial. The finger plate has nicked corners and displays a raised inscription that reads: "WIRRAL FOOTPATH ETC SOCIETY PUBLIC FOOTPATH TO COALPIT LANE PLEASE KEEP TO PATH," along with "BY PERMISSION OF THE COUNCIL" on the post. The guidepost has been relocated due to the re-routing of the footpath because of the M56.
