Description

This footpath guidepost, located 50 meters east of Heath Farmhouse, dates from the late 19th century and was created for the Wirral Footpaths Preservation Society. It features a tapering octagonal cast-iron shaft topped with a moulded section and a ball finial. The shaft includes an inscription that reads "WIRRAL FOOTPATHS ETC. PRESERVATION SOCIETY BY PERMISSION OF THE COUNCIL." Additionally, there is a single finger plate with nicked corners that indicates "PUBLIC FOOTPATH TO LEDSHAM, KEEP TO THE PATH."
