Description
Poplar Hall and the attached farm buildings are a farmhouse and farm structures dating from the mid to late 18th century. The buildings have been altered and expanded over time. They are constructed of limewashed brick and topped with a slate roof. The farmhouse is arranged in an L shape with the barn and stables at right angles.
The house is two storeys high and features three windows. The windows are timber casements, some of which have been replaced, and have brick heads, with the ground floor windows being arched. There is a replaced door in a doorcase with recessed panels, which has an added glazed porch. Brick chimney stacks are located at the gable and on the ridge between the house and barn, and there are dentils along the eaves.
The barn has one ground floor opening with a long timber lintel. The gable end includes a stable door and a door leading to a vented hay loft above. A wing extending to the rear features a carriage door and three upper floor windows.
