Description

The canal milestone, located on the Macclesfield Canal to the south of Bridge Number 33, dates from around 1831. It is made of rough stone and features a semicircular head. The front of the milestone is inscribed with 'From Marple 10 miles', while the reverse side reads 'From Hall Green 16 miles'.
