Description

Canal Bridge Number 33 is a canal bridge built around 1830 by William Crosley for the Macclesfield Canal Company. It is constructed of hammer-dressed pink and buff sandstone. The bridge features a horseshoe elliptical arch with a chamfered coping at road level, and a plain parapet that is topped by a rounded coping. At each corner, the bridge ends with square pilasters. This bridge represents the standard design used on this canal.
