Canal lock 1805 by J.Fetcher, Engineer (consultant T.Telford). Blue and red bricks in English Bond. South (upper) gate of metal, north (lower) gates of wood with wooden beams. Stone copings to approach walls, lock side copings now mainly concrete blocks.
