Description

This milepost, located 330 metres east of the road junction at Monk's Heath, dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. It takes the form of a low bollard with a slightly curving plate on its front. The plate features three panels: the top panel reads "ALDERLEY," the left panel indicates "TO MACCLESFIELD 4½ MILES," and the right panel states "TO KNUTSFORD 7 MILES."
