5/93 Milepost at SJ 9818 7347.

Bollard Milepost: c1820. Cast-iron. Cylindrical head on a narrower cylindrical post, has 3 panels the north face reading BUXTON 7 MILES and the east fence reading MACCLD 4 3/4 MILES. Maker's name J Harrison Ltd. Derby on post.

One of a complete set of bollard mileposts on new Macclesfield to Buxton turnpike of 1821. There are 3 others in Macclesfield Forest (q.v.) 2 in Rainow (q.v.) and another in Wildboarclough.
