Bollard Milepost: c1820. Cast-iron. Cylindrical head on a narrower cylindrical post, has 3 panels, the north wrist face reading BUXTON 5 MILES and the north-east face reading MACCL - 6 3/4 MILES. Makers name J Harrison Ltd. Derby on the post.

One of a complete set of bollard mileposts on the new Macclesfield to Buxton turnpike of 1821. There are 3 others in Macclesfield Forest (q.v.) 2 in Rainow (q.v.) and another in Wildboarclough.
