Description
The entrance arch at the south-east corner of the walled garden at Alderley Park was built in the early to mid-19th century for Sir J T Stanley. It is constructed partly of ashlar buff sandstone and partly of orange brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The arch has a square plan and features a tetrastyle Doric porch on the north front, which is adorned with a triangular pediment. This porch leads into a brick barrel-vaulted passage that has a simple semi-circular headed entrance leading towards the former house.
