Description

War Memorial. Constructed around 1920 in polished grey granite. The memorial consists of a cylindrical shaft set upon a drum pedestal, which in turn sits on a flat base of natural stone. The shaft is topped with a truncated bell-shaped capital supporting an urn finial. Inscriptions on the shaft and pedestal commemorate those who died in both the 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 wars. Originally located within the churchyard of the Church of St Andrew, the memorial has since been moved to its present location.
