Description
Number 16 and the west extension is a house that was formerly a school house, located on the west side of the Village Hall in Upleatham Village, Guisborough. Built in 1871, it uses the same materials as the Village Hall. The building features a gabled cross-bay on the right-hand side and has two stacks. It is two storeys high. On the left-hand side, there is a four-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it, along with a bracketed and slated canopy. The house has mullioned sash windows on both floors and a two-storey square bay window on the right-hand side. All gables have carved barge boards. The listing also includes a late 20th-century extension on the west side, which matches the style and materials of the original building. This property is included for its group value with the Village Hall.
