Description
The garden wall south of Marsh Farmhouse is a boundary wall that dates from the late 18th century and was built in two phases. It is constructed of brick in English Garden Wall bond. The original low wall consists of six courses topped with brick-on-edge coping, which has been raised by an additional thirteen courses with similar coping. There is an opening in the middle of the south wall. The side walls are raked and ramped up at the ends, leading to short north returns that adjoin the farmhouse and a cottage. The left side wall features a segment-headed opening at the north end and a boarded door in the north return. This structure is included for its group value.
