Description
Gladwings' Warehouse, located to the west of Redcar Railway Station, is a railway warehouse built around 1861 for the coastward extension of the Stockton and Darlington Railway. It is currently used for commercial purposes.
The building is constructed of red brick, featuring sandstone and yellow brick dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It has one tall storey and consists of 12 bays. The walls are blank-arcaded with gauged-brick arches and stone impost bands. There is a brick eaves band beneath a moulded stone cornice, and the roof is low-pitched and hipped. The two bays on the west side have wagon entrances, one of which is blocked.
This warehouse is included for its group value.
