Description
The barn and stable, located approximately 10 meters north-west of Marsh Farmhouse, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of brick with clay pantile roofs featuring stone ridge and gable copings. The building has an "L"-shaped plan, consisting of a two-storey barn and a single-storey stable.
The south face of the barn includes groups of three breathers on the first floor. The rear side has a blocked off-centre segment-headed cart entrance, which now features an altered doorway on the left, along with late 19th-century window openings further to the left. A string course runs between the floors, and there is stepped brickwork at the eaves on both sides. The west gable end has a boarded door with a timber lintel beneath a blocked first-floor opening. There is a late 19th-century cart opening in the east return, and the gable was rebuilt around 1900, along with a rebuilt stack at the south-west corner. The stable is attached to the right end of the barn. Later extensions on the south side of the barn and the west side of the stable are not considered of special interest. The stable is included for its group value.
